The Greatest Game - Putt Putt Golf Classic for Charity
There are few avid golfers on the Community Foundation of Western Nevada staff, but last Thursday afternoon we took the afternoon off to play the links. We divided into two fivesomes to play in the best ball tournament. One team scored three under par (Go Tee-zers!) and one player on our other team hit three holes in one. It was an extreme course with many challenges that tested our skill. I must say, the competition was tough at the Estipona Group Putt Putt Classic at Magic Carpet Mini-Golf.
The Putt Putt Classic 20-team tournament was a fundraiser for the Estipona Group’s new charitable fund at the Community Foundation and an excellent staff team building activity. The Estipona Group is committed to helping alleviate homelessness in northern Nevada. To support their goal, they have established a Community Foundation fund to benefit local organizations that serve local homeless populations. Players competed for five awards, including the “Shake It Off Award” for the best injury. It was silly, fun, and the costumes were over the top. The Putt Putt Classic was the perfect way to kick off summer on a beautiful afternoon in Reno.
