Finding and being awarded scholarships to pay for tuition is a goal shared by just about every person with dreams of going to college, and it requires a game plan. A great place to start is to begin researching what kinds of scholarships are available and which are a good fit for you – a scholarship matching tool can be a great resource. You should also make sure you look like a gem online, fine-tune your applications (including putting time and effort into your essays), and cast a wide net by applying to as many scholarships as possible.

I have seen an influx in interest in gifts of real estate in the last month at the Community Foundation. Several current fundholders have initiated real estate gifts recently to maximize their charitable contributions while real estate prices remain highly appreciated.

Time for a Checkup? Annual Physicals Help Keep Charities Healthy

Over many years, the Community Foundation has developed tools to ensure our organization's good health, akin to a person who completes a physical exam. Tools also exist for assessing the performance of charities, whether as a donor, professional advisor, or nonprofit operator. Village on Sage Street Reaches 100% Occupancy

Thanks to fundholders and donors the Village on Sage Street is home this winter to 216 people, many of who were homeless or on the verge of homelessness. A stable and secure home is life-changing. Even better, the Village on Sage Street is a warm and welcoming community.
