Women's Giving Circle Recognized as Outstanding Philanthropists
When women come together to create change, remarkable things happen. The Women's Giving Circle at the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada exemplifies this power of collective impact, and we're thrilled to announce their recognition as Outstanding Philanthropists at the 2024 Cornerstone Awards. This prestigious honor, presented on National Philanthropy Day by the Association of Fundraising Professionals - Sierra Chapter, celebrates their transformative work in our community.
Since 2008, the Women's Giving Circle has been a driving force for positive change in northern Nevada, focusing their philanthropic efforts on improving the lives of women and children. Their approach combines rigorous research with active community engagement - members participate in learning sessions to understand critical needs and identify the most impactful opportunities for support.
The results speak volumes. Over the past three years alone, the Giving Circle has invested more than $500,000 in youth mental health initiatives, including vital support for the Child Psychiatric Program at Quest Counseling. They've also funded innovative positions like the Collective Impact Advisor and Signs of Suicide Family Navigator at The Children's Cabinet. Their total impact since founding? An impressive $1.5 million in strategic grants awarded through carefully curated annual grant cycles. With tremendous impacts on mental health, for the next three years, starting in 2025, the Giving Circle will focus on another crucial community need: Childcare and Early Childhood Education.
Congratulations to all of the members of The Women's Giving Circle for your exceptional leadership and impact.
