Thomas J. Hall Elected Community Foundation Board Chair
Attorney and pilot Thomas J. Hall begins leadership of the Community Foundation of Western Nevada Board this week. Hall has been an active Trustee since 2008. Hall takes the helm of the Community Foundation Board at a time of growth and innovation. The Community Foundation is leading a community-wide initiative to address the challenges facing aging-out foster youth, runaway, homeless and unattached youth in Washoe County ages 12 to 24. The Foundation Board is researching local Impact Investing and the Foundation is coordinating an ongoing Evidence Based Practice learning group with local nonprofit organizations. Hall has served as President of the Reno-Stead Airport Association, the UNR Foundation, the UNR Alumni Association, the Washoe County Bar Association and the Reno Air Racing Foundation. Hall is a native of Southern California. He came to UNR in the early ‘60s and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965. He earned his law degree from Northwestern University in 1971 and has been practicing real estate law in the Reno-Tahoe area for the past forty-three years. Hall played a vital role in precedent-setting land use cases at Lake Tahoe. He has also maintained his active license as a Nevada contractor since 1966 and served 7½ years in the Nevada Air National Guard being honorable discharged as a sergeant. 2014 Community Foundation Board Officers include Butch Anderson: Vice-Chair, Jim Pfrommer: Treasurer, and Matthew Gray: Secretary. ### The Community Foundation of Western Nevada was established in our region in 1998 to promote philanthropy and strengthen our community.
