Spring 2026 Family Estate Planning Series: Helping Our Community Plan with Confidence

Planning for the future can feel overwhelming, but having the right information—and the right guidance—can make all the difference. This spring, the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada and PBS are proud to once again offer the Family Estate Planning Series, a trusted, free educational program designed to help individuals and families organize their affairs with clarity and confidence.

The 2026 Spring Series will run each Wednesday from March 18 through April 29, with two convenient in‑person session options offered each week at the Sierra View Library in the Reno Town Mall. Participants may choose either the 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. session or the 1:30–3:00 p.m. session.

A Seven‑Week Guide to Peace of Mind

For more than two decades, the Family Estate Planning Series has helped thousands of northern Nevadans better understand the decisions that shape their long‑term financial and personal well‑being. Over the course of seven weeks, attendees learn directly from guest speakers—including estate attorneys, financial advisors, and industry experts—who break down essential topics such as:

  • Fundamentals of estate planning
  • Wills, trusts, and probate
  • Healthcare directives and powers of attorney
  • How to plan for and manage digital assets
  • Ways to protect loved ones and honor personal wishes

Each participant receives a comprehensive binder filled with reference materials and worksheets to support their planning journey, both during the series and long after it concludes.

A Commitment to Learning, Supported by Experts

Because each session builds on the next, participants are encouraged to attend all seven classes. The program is intentionally designed to create an accessible, welcoming environment where attendees can ask questions, learn at their own pace, and leave with actionable steps.

The series is free, thanks to the partnership of local nonprofits and professionals who believe in empowering community members to make informed decisions about their estates, assets, and legacies.
