Corporate Philanthropy Supports Community Foundation Initiatives

Corporations have not historically been big contributors to the Community Foundation of Western Nevada. That changed in 2017 with the launch of the Corporate Philanthropy Partners Program. Thousands of people in our region are benefitting from new initiatives, outreach, and services thanks to the vision and generosity of 15 local companies who partner with the Community Foundation. The Caregiver Support Initiative, the Housing Land Trust, which is building the Village on Sage Street for 224 low-income individuals, our ongoing and growing body of work to support youth experiencing homelessness, and educational programs to help nonprofits grow, would not be possible without corporate support. It gives me great pleasure to sing the praises of our Corporate Philanthropy Partners.  The Community Foundation had the experience, connections, and ability to increase impact and community engagement, but we did not have the capacity.  The Corporate Philanthropy Partners gave the Community Foundation that gift of capacity.  We now have two full-time staff members working on community leadership and engagement and continue to grow and expand our efforts.
