Anonymous Bequest Helps Rural Rescue Kennel

Thanks to an anonymous bequest designated to help our region's homeless pets, a rescue kennel in Yerington, Nevada was able to expand their innovative "homelike" kennel concept. BARK is a small 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the care, socialization, and training of at-risk dogs. Safe Haven Rescue Kennel is the Rescue Rehabilitation Center and Sanctuary facility devoted to each dog as an individual, focusing on a peaceful healthy living environment for them. Here is an excerpt from their grant report to bring you a smile. "...We are so excited to have built Cottage #6 in late 2018 located for easy accesses to meet with our short-term rescue and adoptable dogs or walk them out without disturbance from the other dogs. The Safe Haven ‘Concept-to-Reality’ transitions and raises the adoption rate to support more at-risk dogs." "Nothing proves our initiative better than a dog that leaves better than they arrived!" Most people meet with the Community Foundation donor services staff when they create a planned gift or Legacy Fund. We like to meet you, to get to know your story and learn why your philanthropic choices are important to you. The good you create reflects your values and hopes for the future. Whether we are given the chance to thank you in person and discuss your plans for your gift or it someday arrives anonymously, we respect your wishes and are honored to make the grants on your behalf.  When you leave a gift in your will to the Community Foundation, we will honor your charitable wishes exactly as you intend, forever.
