Jeff Lager joined the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada as a Board Advisor and member of the Investment Committee in 2025.

Jeff retired in 2024 after 28 years at Capital Group, a $3T+ investment manager, the world’s largest active manager.  He was a Partner, investment analyst and equity portfolio manager for the American Funds, and Co-President and Principal Investment Officer of American Balanced Fund, a $225B+ global multi-asset mutual fund.  Today he serves as an investor in, advisor to, and director of several public and private companies including Mountain Lake Acquisition Company (NASDAQ:  MLAC).

Jeff earned a BA with distinction in Decision Analysis, a MA in Organizational Behavior, and an MBA, all from Stanford University.  He is a CFA charter holder.  Jeff is the vice-chair of the board of Gill/St. Bernard’s School, serves as a trustee and member of the finance and investment committees of the Yosemite Conservancy, and is an investment committee member of the Tahoe Community Foundation.

Jeff and his wife Erin have lived in Incline Village, NV since 2020 and enjoy everything Northern Nevada and Tahoe offer with their three college and high school aged sons.
