The Community Fund Awarded a 2019 grant to Child Assault Prevention for Elementary Abuse Prevention Workshops.
The interactive workshop is presented to more than 800 second, fourth, and sixth-grade students in Washoe, Storey, Lyon, and Churchill Counties in Nevada.
The workshop engages children in songs, demonstrations, and roleplays in order to teach them how to recognize and understand abusive situations they might encounter with bullies, strangers, Internet predators, social media, and people they love and trust who might physically or sexually abuse them. Since 1984, CAP has been the program trusted to deliver this important child-self protection training for children. The Child Assault Prevention (CAP) project strives to empower children to be “Safe, Strong and Free”. Through education and prevention programs designed to increase children’s safety from bullying, abuse, and assault, CAP is committed to breaking the cycle of abuse. Back to Community Fund Grants
