Community Foundation Board Elects 2016 Officers
At the June 1st, 2016 Board of Trustees meeting a new slate of officers led by Board Chair Jim Pfrommer, was elected to guide the Community Foundation on its course to achieve the ambitious goals adopted in our Strategic Plan. Jim has served on the Board since 2008. He has been a member of the Marketing and Development committee, Investment, Finance, Board Development committees, and now leads the Executive committee. Jim, a CPA, is a partner in the accounting firm Pfrommer & McCune. While providing sound bookkeeping and tax preparation services, Jim is especially focused on providing small and medium-sized businesses, and their owners, with the information and guidance to make the most beneficial financial and tax decisions. In addition to individual and business tax compliance and planning, his practice involves consultation regarding retirement and estate planning. Jim is an active leader and passionate advocate for education in Washoe County. He is Treasurer, Washoe K12 Education Foundation, Past President and Current Member, Education Alliance of Washoe County, Member of Rotary and all around engaged, active citizen.

The Community Foundation is honored to have Jim Pfrommer in the position of leadership as we embark upon our second community initiative and take steps to follow a recently completed 5-year strategic plan. Teresa Mentzer was elected to Board Vice Chair. Teresa joined the Community Foundation Advisory Board in 2010 and devoted her business expertise to the Marketing Committee. She became a Trustee in 2015 and now serves on the Executive and Fund Development Committee. Theresa a former local business owner, sold her All State Insurance practice last year and retired to spend time with her family and commit to her community interests. She is an active, recognized member, and currently, the VP of Service, for the Soroptimists International of Truckee Meadows. Gail Humphreys is the newly elected Board Treasurer. Gail joined the Board in 2008 and contributed her expertise to the Finance Committee. Gail retired this summer from First Independent Bank where she was a Vice President. She now serves on the Finance and Executive Committee. Gail is a Board member of the Raymond C. Rude Supporting Organization of the Community Foundation. Matt Gray is serving as the Community Foundation Board Secretary. He joined the Board in 2013. Matt is a partner at McDonald Carano Wilson. He focuses his practice on estate, tax and wealth succession planning for high-net-worth individuals and families. He also advises clients in the administration of trusts and estates and works closely with executors and trustees in the prudent discharge of their duties. In addition, Matt practices in the areas of business formation, operation, and governance, and real estate and other property transactions. Matt is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Washoe County Probate Bar Association, and a Member of the Legislative Subcommittee within the Probate and Trusts Section of the State Bar of Nevada. His efforts contributed to the enactment of new and updated laws which provide individuals and families superior estate planning opportunities in Nevada. In addition to serving as an officer of the Community Foundation Board of Trustees, Matt is an involved father who coaches youth soccer.
