The Village on Sage Street - Award Winning Community Project.

After a year of work, The Village on Sage is being recognized as an innovative project that fills one of Reno's greatest needs - workforce housing.  I was honored to join Community Foundation staff and donors at the EDAWN  Existing Industry Awards Ceremony on October 17. Receiving the EDAWN President's award in the company of the other award-winning businesses was a gratifying moment, surrounded on stage by Village on Sage partners who had worked together to bring the vision to life. Looking at the photo above - I am struck by how many of us were involved in the partnership.  It truly took a community to build this Village. Now that residents can call the Village on Sage Street home, our role as lead Developer has transitioned to fundraising.  $3.5 million more is needed to pay off loans for construction costs. We are confident that just as the community members came together to build the Village, community philanthropists will appreciate its value to Reno and come together to support it. Community Foundation staff give tours of the Village on Sage Street to interested supporters and are happy to accompany you if you would like to see it for yourself.  We are proud to share the project's story, value to the community, and construction process to other cities experiencing housing shortages.
