Perhaps the most auspiciously named fund, THE COMMUNITY FUND is the promise of the future to our community, from you, from me, from everyone.
In 2017 and 2018 the Community Endowment hit the books with very generous gifts, and in 2019 the income from the Community Endowment, combined with other gifts, will provide assets in the Community Fund for distribution as grants to benefit our region.
A unique aspect of this fund is that the Community Fund is funded by the people to benefit the people in our region, and as such, the recommendations about how the money will be used requires community input. So, we are looking for people like you!
Community Fund Advisory Committee members will recommend the 2019 Community Fund grants to the Community Foundation Board. Members will meet for an orientation in February 2019 and in April 2019 for a proposal Review meeting. The amount we have available to grant will depend upon the amount of distributable income available from the Community Fund. Four members of the community at large will be chosen from the nominations.
Please note, you will be required to create an account login to view the form and in doing so, you can save and return to complete your application at a later time. Applications are due by noon on November 1, 2018.
We don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but we believe in our ability to come together and meet those challenges head-on. We believe in the value of investing in the future of our region, through an endowment fund at the Community Foundation of Western Nevada.
So this is not only a special volunteer opportunity but perhaps, more importantly, a significant giving opportunity. The Community Fund is indeed auspicious and good for our community. It is a future promise to help ensure a quality life for generations to come
My wife Ann and I are personal supporters, through current giving as well as our estate plan, and I urge you to consider joining us. To learn more please give me a call at 775-333-5499 or email me.
