Disaster Relief - Davis Fire

Davis Fire - Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District

According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, the Davis Fire, which began Saturday at the Davis Creek Campground in Washoe Valley, has grown to around 4,700 acres and has destroyed over a dozen structures. Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo has declared a State of Emergency, evacuation orders remain in place for several communities, and Washoe County School District canceled classes on Monday, while thousands of residents remain without power.

Many are looking for ways to help. If you wish to support relief efforts, please consider the organizations below. Gifts can be made directly or as grants from your Donor Advised Fund at the Community Foundation.

Community Foundation staff have been in close contact with United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra (UWNNS) about how to support relief efforts at this time. United Way has established the Davis Creek Fire Emergency Assistance Fund, which will help provide essential resources such as food, shelter, medical supplies, and emergency financial assistance to families in need. The Emergency Assistance Fund page will be actively updated as new information, needs, and resources are available.
