Marcia Growdon joined the Community Foundation in 2019 as a member of the Advisory Board and the Stewardship Committee.

Although currently retired, Marcia and her husband owned a computer rental business for many years. Additionally, Marcia was previously employed as an adjunct professor of art history at the University of Nevada, Reno for 20 years. Marcia served as the director of the Museum of Art, chaired the Reno Arts Commission, chaired the Nevada Historic Preservation Board and the State Commission for Cultural Affairs, as well as having served on other educational foundation boards and ad hoc civic committees. She now volunteers at the Nevada Museum of Art.

Marcia brings 40 years of experience in arts and education administration and small business management to the Community Foundation.

It's vital to be a participating member of whatever community you live in, Marcia says.

Marcia and her husband Chuck moved to Reno in 1977.
