Home > Food Bank Northern Nevada Community Nutrition Endowment Teaches Good Habits

You’ve most likely heard the Chinese proverb: Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. That concept is the reason the Food Bank provides nutrition education classes to children and their parents in addition to providing much-needed food to help families when they need assistance.

You can help fund these programs through this fundraising challenge initiated by the generous and visionary Fuzell-Casey Family.

The giving opportunity is the newly created Community Nutrition Education Endowment. With their $25,000 gift, the Fuzell-Casey Family launched this endowment to support the Food Bank’s community education outreach efforts. By supporting the Community Nutrition Education Endowment, you give a gift of perpetuity that creates a legacy for your family. The Community Nutrition Education Endowment is managed by the Community Foundation of Western Nevada.

Jacquelyn Fuzell-Casey and Tim Casey and their son, Skyler, want to serve as role models in the community for promoting education that drives positive change. They invite others to join their effort by supporting the Food Bank’s nutrition education programs.
