Nominating Committee

Bonnie Drinkwater has been part of the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada since 2017, when she began serving on the Advisory Board. She is currently on the Board of Trustees and is a member of the Nominating Committee.

Bonnie has her own law practice, Drinkwater Law Offices, and practices in the areas of business and corporate law, employment law, and intellectual property law. She currently serves as the Chair of the Advisory Board for the Nevada Small Business Development Center and as a board member for The Pioneer Center. She previously served as a board member of several other organizations, including Safe Kids of Washoe County, Truckee Meadows Tomorrow, the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, United Way, and the American Red Cross. Bonnie is also involved as a mentor for children and adults participating in Silver State Chautauqua.

A Reno native and fourth-generation Nevadan, Bonnie knows the community and is familiar with its needs due to her work with nonprofits in the area. This work with nonprofits has also provided her with a familiarity with how nonprofits operate, which is a skill set she brings to the Community Foundation.

Bonnie wants the community to be the best place it can possibly be, and she feels pride knowing she’s doing what she can to promote that goal.

Bonnie is married and has a daughter and a son. Her family has a dog named Ellie. When she’s not working or contributing to the Community Foundation, Bonnie enjoys reading, traveling, photography, and enjoying the outdoors.
