With more than 25 years as a fundraising and marketing practitioner, Karen Senger has experience with all aspects of fundraising including capital campaigns, major gifts, legacy gifts, grants, corporate gifts, and direct marketing fundraising. She was most recently the Development Director for Sierra Nevada Journeys where she helped launch a $7.3 million capital campaign that surpassed the halfway mark in the first 11 months. Karen has 13 years of experience raising funds and managing marketing for food banks including the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, where she managed a successful $12.7 million capital campaign for a new distribution facility.
Karen spent six years with Leadership Tulsa growing the organization’s community leadership programs that included debuting a community leadership and philanthropy program for high school students and an executive leadership series for C-Suite employees. During her tenure with Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences, she implemented a community relations program and re-established a defunct Development office. In her one for-profit job with IGT, she served as a Marketing Communications Editor creating marketing plans and collateral for MegaJackpots slots. Her passion for improving communities led her to help establish the Youth Asset Building Coalition of Tulsa and contribute to the Truckee Meadows Healthy Communities collaborative. Karen is currently a Nevada Promise Scholarship Mentor to a second-year TMCC nursing student.
