Renda, Lauren
Program Officer

Lauren is a life-long Nevadan, with a passion for both her global and local community. On most weekends you can find her exploring Nevada’s back roads and hot springs, or relaxing at Tahoe. In the Community Foundation office, Lauren is responsible for managing the Scholarship program. She is the staff liaison to the advisory committees of several large funds such as the Nevada Dream Tags Fund and The Truckee River Fund.

A UNR alum, Lauren graduated in 2009 with a BA in International Affairs and Spanish, with a focus on the Middle East. She also studied abroad twice, to Cyprus in 2006 and Chile in 2007, which speaks to her love of travel and culture.

She is also a graduate of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, where she received an MA in International Policy, focusing on Conflict Resolution and Human Rights, in 2012. Easily one of the most influential experiences to date, Lauren spent a month in Nepal doing fieldwork on post-conflict reconstruction and examining the issue of human trafficking in the region.

Lauren is thrilled to be back in the nonprofit world working for such a wonderful organization as the Community Foundation.
