Cindy Carano is a passionate advocate for Reno, Nevada and serves on the Community Foundation Stewardship Committee

Ms. Carano began learning the intricacies of hotel/casino operations at a young age. As a junior high and high school student, she worked at the Eldorado Hotel Casino in a wide range of areas, including reservations, front desk, night audit, cost control, food and beverage, management information systems, and PBX.

After graduating from UNLV, Cindy joined the Hyatt Regency San Francisco where she held the position of Corporate Management Trainee. While at the Hyatt Regency, she worked in several capacities mastering the various aspects of hotel and restaurant operations.

In 1985, Ms. Carano joined the Eldorado management team as Reservations Supervisor. She quickly moved her way up to Hotel Manager and then on to the position of Director of Hotel of Operations.

In 1997, Cindy moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, accepting the title of General Manager for a group of Bed and Breakfast Inns. Upon her return to Reno, she acted as Director of Development for a local private school during a period of two years. In 2003, Cindy again joined the Eldorado as Community Relations Manager, representing the business on several committees in the community.  In 2005, she returned to the hotel division as Executive Director of Hotel Operations.

In 2016, her attention turned once again toward her passion for involvement in the community. Today, she leads Eldorado Resorts Reno’s Community Relations department as Executive Director and is enjoying spearheading the properties’ commitments to the betterment of Reno’s education programs, the growth of arts, and culture, and the corporation’s civic giving.  Cindy is the Immediate Past Chair, Downtown Reno Partnership 2018—present. She serves as Chair of the 2020-2022 Community Foundation Women’s Giving Circle, and Chair of the Great Good Council, powered by the Moonridge Group.
