When the Community Foundation began the Youth Network Initiative (You’N-I), youth emphasized the importance of having (or not having) a caring adult in their lives. Mentoring a young person makes sure that he/she will grow up knowing there is someone who cares about them, someone who will listen to what they have to say and encourage them to achieve their goals. Mentors can have a positive impact on a child’s education, daily life, and their future.
