Contribute to the General Fred Michel Scholarship for Careers in Aviation.
The General Fred Michel Scholarship for Careers in Aviation was created in memory of Fred Michel who was a Director for the Reno Air Racing Association for over 28 years. He served on active duty in the United States Air Force for 12 years. Following his active military service, General Fred joined the Nevada Air National Guard where he served another 16 years of military duty, ultimately being promoted to Chief of Staff as a Brigadier General. He retired from the service in March of 1984.
In October of 2007, Fred’s wife, Patricia, established this fund in Fred’s honor. The motivation for this scholarship is to inspire Nevada’s young people to learn to fly, to promote continuing education, and to advance the aviation industry.
