Scholarship Impacts Family's Future

Scholarships that encourage scholastic effort for returning or nontraditional students like Peter Pippo pictured here, can help an entire family by opening career paths.

Peter Pippo (pictured above with his sons) was awarded the Robert and Judy Dreiling Scholarship for 2015. Peter is a single father of two sons. He worked in the ski industry for many years; but due to the economic downfall and lack of Sierra snow, his work became inconsistent. Peter knew he needed to go back to school to gain skills to enter a new area of employment. He enrolled at TMCC in the Production Technology certification program. Peter anticipates that the skills he learns will make him an asset to one of the high-tech companies moving to the Reno area.
