Our community’s first comprehensive go-to resource guide for youth ages 12 to 24 is live.
Go to renoyouthnetwork.com , type in a search term
( pregnant, hungry, job or any need you know youth on the streets will find important) and see what pops up.
You will find Service Provider names, days and hours of operation, details about services, bus routes. Putting all this vital information in one searchable, up-to-date and up-datable place is an unparalleled tool for helping youth in Washoe County.
The Community Foundation of Western Nevada took on the RenoYouthNetwork.com project when it was apparent at the community-wide convenings that services providers did not have a comprehensive list of referrals and nobody understood the scope of services provided in our community. By cataloging and categorizing we will be able to tell by popular search terms that don’t lead to providers, where the critical gaps in services are and work to remedy. Social workers, cops on the street, school counselors will now all be able to quickly find services for homeless youth in need.
