Giving Cryptocurrency to Charity

The Community Foundation accepted its first gift of Bitcoin in late December 2017. This was a magnificent and generous gift to the community, and the donor received a valuable tax deduction, while we gained insight and experience. Melissa Tschanz, Community Foundation of Western Nevada CFO and attorney Tyson Cross of Cross Law will present the various forms of cryptocurrency, Bitcoin and other digital monetary units and what your clients need to know about giving this new form of money.
