Community Foundation Helping with Workforce and Affordable Housing
In January and March, local leaders and housing experts gathered to learn from an analysis by the Enterprise Group about our acute housing needs. Enterprise works with partners nationwide to build opportunity. They create and advocate for affordable homes in thriving communities linked to good schools, jobs, transit and health care. They also lend funds, finance development, and manage and build affordable housing, while shaping new strategies, solutions, and policy. Discussions were held with our key local stakeholders around workforce housing. We explored issues that are preventing and could support the expansion of workforce, and affordable housing. But you and I are just two of thousands of residents who care about this issue. Imagine the harm done to the community should we not be able to accommodate those who are moving here for our new business opportunities and those who live here who are displaced, or outpriced? So, in the spirit of including more people from our community, the Community Foundation is hosting: “A Community Conversation on Workforce Housing" April 13th, 5-7pm Reno High School Auditorium Parking is available on the south lot on Foster Drive. Separate entrance to Auditorium faces south.
