Community Foundation Adds New Advisory Board Members in July 2022
We are very grateful for our Board members who generously donate their time and skills to strengthen the Community Foundation. They work on committees, serve as ambassadors, give to our operating fund, help advance the Community Foundation – the list goes on and on. We are excited to introduce you to four new Advisory Board members, who started their term this July.
Alyssa Yocom – Development Committee
Alyssa is a northern Nevada native and has always believed that community engagement is important. She is excited to further the Community Foundation’s mission of connecting people who care with causes that matter through her volunteer work on the Development Committee and Professional Advisory Council.
Alyssa is a Wealth Manager at Schultz Financial Group Inc., where she works with high-net-worth individuals and families. She particularly enjoys working with first-generation wealth creators, helping them achieve both their personal and financial goals. Alyssa has earned her Certified Private Wealth Advisor® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designations in addition to a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning and a B.S. in Business Administration.
Ann Rosevear – Stewardship Committee
Ann Rosevear serves as President and Chief Trust Officer (CTO) for Dunham Trust Company (DTC), providing expert structuring and administration of trusts to DTC's most complex clients. As President, Ann contributes comprehensive knowledge in trust and estate administration, asset protection and Nevada business planning, as well as overseeing the firm's adherence to fiduciary, regulatory and compliance requirements. As CTO, Ann provides highly attentive trustee services, paying particular attention to risk management issues, discretionary actions, on-going tax planning, communication with co-trustees, beneficiary needs, and professional advisor performance and dedication. She has a demonstrated understanding of trust and wealth management maintaining a well-rounded ability to work in partnership with attorneys, financial advisors, and accountants to best serve DTC's trust clients.
Prior to joining Dunham Trust Company, Ann spent 14 years as a principal attorney at Walsh, Baker, Rosevear & Loomis, P.C. in Reno, focusing primarily on estate and business planning, probate, and investment and annuity transfer and underwriting, managing a multi-state practice. Ann also acted for several years as General Counsel for two Nevada-based organizations managing their corporate affairs, contracting, asset acquisition and shareholder relations. She was fortunate to begin her legal career with excellent mentorship at Marsh, Higgins, Beatty and Hatch, P.C. in Vancouver, Washington.
Ann is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (B.A., 1992) Honors College and Gonzaga University School of Law (J.D., 1996), Dean's List, Cum Laude distinction. She is also a member in good standing before the State Bar of Nevada and is licensed to practice law in Nevada.
Jonnie Pullman – Community Engagement Committee
Jonnie Pullman, retired, has more than 25 years’ experience in city, county, and state governments, including positions as Deputy Probation Officer, Management Analyst, Budget Manager and Deputy City Manager. She also served 12 years as Trustee in the Washoe County School District, including terms as Vice President and President, and as the Executive Director of the Affordable Housing Resource Council.
Jonnie is an active participant in community affairs, currently as Board member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Reno South, on the Board of Achievement Beyond Obstacles Rotary Scholarship Program, and the Standing Advisory Committee for TMWA. Her past activities include Board member and Board President for Community Health Alliance, the Management Advisory Committee at United Way, Reno Charter Committee and Board member (and Secretary) for the Mentors of Montessori Schools.
She has a Master’s in Public Administration and a B.S. in Political Science, having attended the University of California at Santa Barbara and California State University Bakersfield, and numerous training and educational opportunities.
Rob Lamb – Stewardship Committee
Rob is currently the Director of College Counseling and junior class dean at Sage Ridge School in Reno, where he has worked since 2013. He was previously Associate Director of Admissions for Campus Visits and Programs at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. Prior to that, he worked for The Overlake School in Redmond, Washington as a counselor and college advisor. From 2010 to 2013, Rob served as Membership Committee Chair for the Pacific Northwest Association for College Admission Counseling (PNACAC), representing college admissions professionals in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. A regional affiliate of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), PNACAC is an education association of secondary school counselors, college and university admissions officers, counselors and related individuals who work with students as they make the transition from high school to postsecondary education. Rob helped to increase PNACAC’s overall membership by 20% while serving on the association’s executive leadership team.
Rob is passionate about helping children to grow and meet their college and career goals through a range of educational and financial aid opportunities. He believes he can help children benefit from those causes through his work at the Community Foundation.
Additional Changes
Previous Advisory Board members, Joel Muller and Vic Bucher were elected to the Board of Trustees this month. Congratulations, Joel and Vic! Finally, after serving as Trustee for 12 years, Cary Lurie has concluded her Board service, but is now a member of the Emeritus Board. Carry on, Cary!
