Lyndsey Crossley, CAP©, Philanthropic Advisor with the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada, relishes helping donors get the most out of their philanthropy. As a philanthropic advisor, she explores giving opportunities for fundholders and makes recommendations for effective charitable giving and legacy planning with impact.
Lyndsey is the primary relationship manager for the Community Foundation’s 100 Legacy Society members. Her attention to detail and commitment to honoring clients’ charitable goals is evident through her careful execution of Legacy fund grants.
As liaison for 25 Community Foundation nonprofit endowment partners, Lyndsey is knowledgeable about the sector’s activities and needs. In her role as coach to the Community Foundation of Elko County Fund Advisory Committee, she administers their grant programs and helps to build the affiliate fund’s endowment.
Lyndsey’s expertise enables the Community Foundation to offer generational family philanthropy services and the Women’s Giving Circle, which has made more than $1.3 million in grants to nonprofits serving women and girls in our region.
She manages 122 of the Community Foundation’s active charitable funds with total assets of $41.2M. The largest fund under her management is $14M. She has facilitated more than 1,000 grants, the largest of which was 4.5M
Lyndsey Crossley earned the Chartered Advisory in Philanthropy® (CAP®) certification in January 2021 from the American College of Financial Services. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada Reno and a member of the Planned Giving Roundtable of Northern Nevada and the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy. Lyndsey began her career with the Community Foundation in 2013 and was recognized for her achievements and professional abilities with a promotion from Program Officer to Philanthropic Advisor in 2020.
Working in the nonprofit realm affords her the opportunity to be involved in what she is personally passionate about – social equity, human rights, arts & culture, and family philanthropy. You may run into her in Reno at an art reception or on a hiking trail in the mountains.
