Joel Muller, CRPC®, officially joined the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada Board in 2020 when he began serving on the Investment Committee, but he’s worked with the Community Foundation directly and indirectly for 25 years. He has also served on the Professional Advisor Council for the past four years. Joel currently serves as the Board Vice Chair and the Chair of the Advancement Committee.

Joel is a financial advisor for Edward Jones and focuses on planning for retirement, portfolio strategies, investments, and estate considerations. He was previously the vice president of Fund Development at Renown Health and the director of Gift Planning at Saint Mary’s Foundation. Joel is a volunteer leader for many other nonprofit organizations in the community, including Rotary International, the Assistance League of Reno-Sparks, and CARE Chest. Joel brings his experience in investments, charitable gift planning, and fundraising to the Community Foundation.

Joel is a native Nevadan. He has been married to his wife, Leslie, for over 30 years. They have two sons and are the happy grandparents of their first granddaughter. They have one dog. Joel enjoys martial arts, hiking, golf, and stand-up paddleboarding.
