The Community Foundation believes in helping women
lift themselves out of poverty.
Women and Children Center of the Sierra posted a heartfelt thank you on their Facebook page for being awarded one of the highly competitive 2014 Partnership Grants:
WOW! We received notification yesterday that the Community Foundation of Western Nevada has honored WACCS' work with a $10,000 matching grant! Every gift from a new donor between now and January 31, 2015 (up to $10,000) will be matched by the Foundation! On behalf of every woman working to escape poverty in order to provide a better life for themselves and their families, Thank You to the Community Foundation of Western Nevada!
Funding will help Women and Children's Center provide English and Second Language classes; high school equivalency preparation; computer skills training; Gateway to Success job readiness and career development, Getting Ahead anti-poverty work, a diaper bank, and monthly legal clinic.
