Great Basin Outdoor School Mission: To ignite children’s passion for learning and foster cooperation, respect, and responsibility through hands-on discovery in the outdoor classroom.
Programs: Children build academic and social skills and develop their understanding of the natural world during overnight Tahoe science camps and day field studies with their classes. They study local ecology with standards-based lessons during spring, fall, and winter programs. Children and families also enjoy school break day camps and Saturday family hikes. Service-learning projects and place-based education help develop a commitment to sustainability and a connection to the earth.
