Give the gift of nature to a child who has never dangled a toe in Lake Tahoe. Generations of children will experience nature, some for the first time, through the support of the Great Basin Outdoor School endowment.

Great Basin Outdoor School Mission:  To ignite children’s passion for learning and foster cooperation, respect, and responsibility through hands-on discovery in the outdoor classroom.

Year round programs expose children to the beautiful Nevada outdoors.

Year round programs expose children to the beautiful Nevada outdoors.

Programs: Children learn during four-day field studies building academic and social skills and developing their understanding of the natural world. Fifth and sixth grade classes, high school and college students, and teachers study local ecology with standards-based lessons at Camp Galilee, Lake Tahoe during spring, fall, and winter programs. Service-learning projects and place-based education help develop a commitment to sustainability and a connection to the earth.
