About Gordon Lymbery

Apply online for the Gordon Lymbery Scholarship.

Gordon Lymbery, PhD was born in Reno in 1949. After receiving degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno (Bachelor of Science, Agriculture) and the University of Wyoming, Laramie (Master of Science, Range Management), he became the first doctoral candidate in Range Science at New Mexico State University, Las Cruces and ultimately was the first person to earn his Doctor of Philosophy in Range Science at the school before returning to Nevada.

He settled in Spring Creek, Nevada where he opened and operated a Range and Ranch Management consulting business. Gordon was always unassuming and dealt with others in an honorable and fair manner. All people were his friends unless they proved otherwise and he enjoyed encouraging others in whatever endeavor they wanted to pursue. Through hard work and determination, Gordon was able to achieve his goals and he believed that with a little encouragement others could also set and reach their own goals in order to live a better life. Established in memory of Gordon, this scholarship fund is dedicated to that philosophy.
